You're Not Alone...
Many people believe they must live with the effects of trauma forever, but that's not true. Trauma responses and anxiety are your brain's way of trying to protect you. They aren't helpful anymore, but they can be changed!
In seeking therapy, you're taking a brave step towards positive change. With ART, that change can happen faster than you might think!
Your path to rapid healing starts here
Through ART, you'll transform your relationship with traumatic memories and anxiety-provoking thoughts. This powerful therapy can bring relief within just a few sessions, allowing you to reclaim your life and find peace.
Many people feel their emotional burden lifted dramatically—almost miraculously—after just one, two, or three sessions of ART.
Imagine feeling calm when faced with previous triggers, and sleeping peacefully without nightmares.
Imagine moving through life free from anxiety, without any worries about "what ifs."
This is the ARTful journey we'll embark on together. Are you ready?
How does Accelerated Resolution Therapy work?
ART uses eye movements similar to REM sleep to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories. During an ART session:
- You will imagine a traumatic memory or distressing situation, a little at a time
- While focusing on this, you'll follow my pointer side-to-side with your eyes, or I'll tap you on your knees. This bilateral stimulation helps your brain reprocess the memory
- You'll only imagine 30 seconds at a time; in between, I'll help soothe any difficult emotions that arise
- You'll then "rescript" the memory or situation, changing it to something emotionally neutral
- The final step is consolidating the rescripted memory, filing away the new version in your brain
The result? ART therapists like to say, "Keep the memory, lose the pain." Through ART, the memory loses its emotional charge—so if you think about the situation in the future, you'll know the facts, but won't experience the distress.
What does Accelerated Resolution Therapy do?
The bilateral eye motion used in ART helps create flexibility in the brain that changes how memories are stored. ART is known for:
- A Client-Centered Approach: Clients decide how they want to feel different, and the ART process puts that into action.
- Quick Results: Many clients experience significant relief in just 1-5 sessions.
- Reduced Emotional Reactivity: Traumatic memories lose their emotional charge.
- Improved Sleep: Clients find relief from nightmares and insomnia.
- Enhanced Mood: Depression and anxiety symptoms are reduced.
- Increased Confidence: Clients feel more in control of their thoughts and emotions.
- Minimal Talking: Unlike traditional therapy, ART doesn't require clients to talk about traumatic events.
- Long-Lasting Effects: Changes in the brain's processing of memories tend to be permanent.
- Improved Relationships: As you heal, your interactions with others often improve.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy vs. EMDR
While both ART and EMDR use eye movements, there are key differences:
- Speed: ART typically works faster, often in 1-5 sessions compared to 8-12 for EMDR.
- Talking: ART requires minimal verbalization of traumatic experiences.
- Voluntary Memory Replacement: In ART, you consciously choose new, positive images to replace distressing ones.
- Protocol: ART sessions follow a proven, scripted structure, potentially leading to faster results.
- The Therapist Role: ART therapists are more directive in guiding the session.
- Hypnotherapy Elements: The ART script draws on principles of hypnotherapy, tapping the power of the unconscious mind for healing.
Both ART and EMDR are effective, but ART may offer quicker relief for many clients. Additional ART "booster" sessions can enhance results.
